   Vaikunda Ekadasi in the month of Margazhi (December-January) is important festival celebrated in the temple.

Temple's Speciality:

   Lord Vishnu is seated on lotus designed seat (Peetam) holding Sri Mahalakshmi on the left lap and graces as Sri Lakshminarayana.

General Information:

   Anjaneya and Navaneethakrishnan are on the stoopi (pillar) in front of the temple facing the Lord. Veera Anjaneyar and Vijaya Anjaneyar grace from the other side of the pillar.


   Devotees go round the stoopi on Thursdays and Saturdays seeking child boon.Those undergoing the seven and half year Saturn period worship Anjaneya for relief from the adverse effects of this period. The prolonged misunderstanding between husband and wife would come to end with loving results, if they pray to Lord Lakshminarayana. Those who have lost in business will regain their standing.

   Devotees perform Tirumanjanam to the Lord with vastras-clothings.

Greatness Of Temple:

   There are only a few Vishnu temples in Tamilnadu with the Lord appearing in a sitting form and this is a temple of this kind. During the Poornima days (full moon days) Sudarshana Homas, Bagyasutharam, Navagraha Homa, Santhana Mahalakshmi Homa are performed. A bhajan also is performed in the evening. Hanuaman and Navaneethakrishnan grace in the stoopi facing the Lord and Garuda and Vinayaka are facing South.

Temple History:

   Mahalakshmi was determined to get Vishnu as Her Lord and achieved the aim when the milk ocean was churned. Lord Vishnu responding Her love for Him took Her on His left lap and sat on a lotus flower.The Kalinganardhana idol (Lord Kirshan dancing on the head of the five headed snake Kalinga is very beautifully made by the sculptors. Despite the age, the idol still looks very new. It is said that those facing problems from the enemies may worship Kalinganardhana Krishna to win over them.
