   Purattasi Saturdays in September-October, Vaikunda Ekadasi in December-January and Hanumath Jayanthi are grandly celebrated in the temple.

Temple's Speciality:

   The sanctum sanctorum is aesthetically formed in a round shape with the divine serpent Aadisesha on the lotus petals. Sri Perumal graces on Aadisesha with His consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi. Lord appears as if a king readying for a hunting with His crown and wearing ornaments in legs, hip and chest. He carries the weapons necessary for the sport.

   Realizing their wishes, devotees offer curd rice as nivedhana to Sri Anjaneya and Tulsi garlands to Chakkarathazhwar. They light ghee lamps in the shrines.

Greatness Of Temple:

   The sanctum sanctorum is round in shape with all aesthetic features.??Perumal graces with His consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi sitting on the divine serpent Aadishesha.??He looks as a king readying for hunting in such a dress with weapons needed for sport.??He looks as a trained hunter.??Perumal also appears as if looking at His devotees from His tall peetam.There is also a shrine for Lord Soumya Narayana, so handsome as His name suggests with His consorts. Sri Ramanuja, Nammalwar, Manavala Mamunigal grace in a sitting form in front of this shrine. Special pujas are conducted here on their birth star days. Sri Anjaneya appears as if worshipping Lord Rama with folded hands. He is also praised as Varasiddhi Anjaneya meaning that He grants the boons sought by the devotees. Special pujas are performed for Sri Anjaneya with silver coverings on Hanumath Jayanthi day and Saturdays in Purattasi-September-October. The faith is that the devotee will realize his/her wish if they offer curd rice nivedhana for five weeks continuously. Job giver Sudharsanar: Sri Sudarsanar, representing the discus of Lord Perumal graces from a separate shrine with sixteen hands. Lord Sri Yoga Narasimha graces from behind. Those seeking a job after education pray to Chakkarathazhwar-Sudarsanar on Saturdays with Tulsi garlands and lighting ghee lamps. Twin Tirupathi of Sivaganga: Of the celebrated 108 Divyadesas of Lord Vishnu, Azhagarkoil in Madurai and Tirukoshtiyur Soumyanarayana Perumal are considered very important. Lords of both these sacred places can be worshipped together in a single temple in Sivaganga ? Sri Sundararaja Perumal temple ? a double fortune for the devotees.

Temple History:

   The temple was built by Sivaganga Zamin Sundara Pandian in 17th?century.??He was a staunch devotee of Azhagarkoil and Tirukoshtiyur Lords-Perumals.??He wanted to integrate the Pancharatra and Vaikanasa Agamas and conduct the pujas in the temple accordingly.???Lord Sundararaja Perumal is installed according to Pancharatra code and Soumya Narayana Perumal on Vaikanasa principles.??After the life time of Sundara Pandian, his mother Magamu Nachiar completed all the temple works.?There are statues of both mother and son in the temple.
