Festival:

   The temple conducts Mayana Puja ? Puja in the cremation ground at night on the Maha Shivrathri day occurring in February-March. A festival called Elumbukadi Vizha is celebrated on the banks of the Noyyal River for Angalamman. After this event, the priests take the deity, said to be custodian deity for Masani Amman to the main temple, explain people of the place. Other festivals are Chithirai Kani-Tamil New Year Day falling almost on April 14, New Moon days, Tuesdays and Fridays and the 18th day in the Tamil month Aadi ?July-August. Chithirai Kani is the main festival with special Alankaras, abisheks and pujas to Mother Masani Amman. It is the faith of the devotees that their prayers will have a positive and prompt response from Amman. The temple closes late at night this day for the convenience of the devotees.

The month of Aadi may be called a festival month for the temple with special pujas and Alankaras to Amman on Tuesdays and Fridays. Learned priests conduct special Yagas.

   The idol of Mother Masani Amman was in clay about a hundred years back.??The temple ground was a cremation yard earlier.??Devotees made the clay idol and were performing only Mayana Pooja ? puja in the cremation ground.??But the idol was dissolved in rain.??After the Mayana Pooja celebrated about 24 years back, people again made a clay idol that did not dissolve in rain but was drying under the hot sun.?People began to believe in the power of the Amman then. They built the temple with the funds they could contribute to the best of their abilities.??This is next famous to the Masani Amman temple in Pollachi.??Devotees throng the temple from others districts also.??The priests worked in the temple simply to serve Mother Amman.??Presently, the temple has come under the control of Hindu Religious Endowment Board.
