   Praised in the hymns of Nammazhwar, who brought Vedas to Tamil. Azhwar addresses a woman through a verse inviting her to see him and others dancing in ecstasy on seeing the Lord in Vaikunda with Mother Varagunamangai staying in their hearts perennially.

Temple History:

   The place is popularly known as Natham only. Varagunamangai is the place where the Lord granted darshan to a Brahmin Vedic scholar. As prayed by the Brahmin, Lord granted darshan as Vijayasanar. He also graced Agni, Rishi Romasa and Satyavan with His darshan.
